Early seventies two brothers from the Westdijk family started their own company for soil transport. Two years later a third brother joined them. When the hydraulic cranes made place for the first lowloader in 1978 -and peopled shifted from moving ground to moving the machines- the base was laid for these current companies.

One thing that hasn’t changed from the beginning onwards: Westdijk is a close family company. Drivers, mechanics, planners and administrative employees: many of them are related to the founders.

From 1978 onwards the company has extended further and further. Twenty years ago this led to moving from the farm in Hazerswoude to the warehouse at an industrial estate in Alphen aan den Rijn which covers no less than 10,000 square meters of ground.

Through a combination of hard word and the pioneer-spirit of the brothers and a more and more professional way of working by bringing in knowledge from outside Westdijk has become what it is today.

Not unimportant the mouth to mouth advertising which helped found the name Westdijk nationally as well as internationally.
